A shocking incident has happened in Odisha where a 58 year old woman was killed by a crocodile. She was a cattle grazer and she lost her life in the human-animal conflict. The accident happened close to Bhitarkanika National Park in Odisha's Kendrapara district.


Forest Officials said there has been frequent crocodile attacks on humans in this region. The left arm alone was retrieved from the site. Bharati Mandal (45) who was real eye-witness alerted the forest officials. He said, "I was watching the woman grazing cattle near the river.


A big crocodile suddenly came out of no where on the knee length water and it dragged her into the river. The incident occurred outside the national park limits. Most number of people have lost their lives and livelihood due to this attacks.


This is common during monsoon and winter months as it was considered to be the nesting season of crocodiles." Forest Officials said they are taking all precautions to avoid such conflicts in future.
