Few days back we reported that Telugu Desam Party President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu decided to have a helipad on the roof top of his 'temporary' Secretariat complex t Velagapudi near Amaravati in Guntur district.

However there were lots of criticism with respect to this news. Most of them said, this is useless and it is just waste of tax payers money. However Naidu's supporters said, this will help to avoid traffic collision and Naidu can do his duties without any hiccups. The total cost for building this roof top helipad around 2000 Square feet area is said to be Rs.1 Crore.

This will be constructed by Shapoorji Pallonji and Larsen and Toubro. This helipad will directly connect Chandrababu Naidu to his office building and he can just walk straightaway to his chambers. This would help him avoid travelling for 50 km from Gannavaram to his office and prevent traffic jams.

Former Chief Minister YS Rajasekar Reddy had Helipad adjacent to Secretariat and it was not a bad idea too. But YSR never used it and he used to go to Begumpet Airport to board the chopper. Now it is a parking space. So it is of no use to have a helipad for CBN.
