Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha is going to celebrate her 68th birthday tomorrow. As a token of celebration she revealed various benefits. One among them was free bus travel for senior citizens. Jayalalitha announced that scheme at Assembly on 18th of this month.
Jayalalitha announced the scheme under section 110. Any citizen above 60 years of age can use this benefit. But a citizen can just use this benefit just ten times per month and most of them were a lot worried. Now we heard few words direct from the citizens.
Mrs.Lakshmi said, "This is a good scheme. But this ten token is useless. Wish they give it as monthly pass. So that it could benefit most of us. As we are old, we won't travel much. Government must consider it."
Another senior citizen said, "Government must make everything clear. We are right now confused. Even in Chennai, to reach a particular destination we will take more than ten buses. So all the tokens will be wasted on one day itself. So they must at least change it as one day pass."
