Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad has confessed that Andhra Pradesh will soon be emerged as major electronics hub and he announced lots of initiatives.
He said, "Andhra Pradesh will soon be a major electronics manufacturing hub as already four electronics clusters was sanctioned and the fifth one is in process. The SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research) is a Centre for Electromagnetic Environmental Effects.
It is an autonomous R&D institution under the Department of Electronics and Information and Technology (DEITY), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT). It is one of the most advanced institutions of the Government of India. The Organization has headquarters at Mumbai and it operates other four centers in Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati and Visakhapatnam.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was making profits till 2004, but after that during the Congress regime, the company faced severe losses. For past 17 months, BSNL slowly makes profits and the figures read profits of 672 Crores."
