There are more than 3 Lakh contract and outsourced employees working in more than 87 departments of the state. But now there is a sad thing about them. They never received any hike for past five years but permanent employees got a hike of 110%. The partiality is evident from the salaries which they get.
When it comes to Medical and Health department, 11 years of service gets Rs.16, 000 whereas a regular employee gets Rs.40, 000. They do not have maternity leave either. We always see contract and outsourcing employees often fighting as their services have to be regularized.
Now their demands are legit. Now before elections, TDP promised that all services of all contract and outsourcing employees will be regularized. But as always, Naidu after he came to power, he is yet to keep his word.
He has formed a cabinet sub-committee on the issue which is yet to submit its report on the issue. The staff from across the state is therefore organizing ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ on 3rd of March.
