Emerging confident after the thumping victory in all the elections
in Telangana, the ruling TRS government in the region has tightened
norms for the MLAs in Telangana Legislative Assembly which is aimed at
fully cornering Opposition parties.
From the
upcoming budget session in the month of March, if any MLA attempts at
disrupting the Governor's speech for the opening day of Assembly
session, they would be immediately suspended for one year.
It
has become a routine phenomenon in any state for the Opposition MLAs to
obstruct Governor's speech by raising loud slogans against ruling
party. The Assembly ethics committee which met today has taken this
decision.
It was also decided that no allow
MLAs will be allowed display placards or any other materials to lodge
their protests in the House. They will also be suspended. From now they
will have to simply be confined to their seats in the House and maintain
silence or else they will attract suspension!
