The State Women's commission took a hit against Karimnagar Police over the brutal gang rape of a dalit girl in Karimnagar district. Veenavanka Police should have been well aware of such an incident before the video went viral on social media.
The commission demanded an immediate action from the cops. Women's commission chairperson Tripurana Venkataratnam also demanded action against the policemen as they were well aware of the incident but still they were lethargic in taking action.
Speaking to media conference she said, "The police have taken action and a report was submitted on the case. We have asked the top officials to look into the matter. This issue demands immediate action. This is something crucial and everyone must be aware about.
The incident took place on February 10th. But the video which was used to blackmail and intimidate the victim went viral in WhatsApp. It has happened just after fourteen days. Earlier the commission had sought a report from Karim Nagar police.
