The Madhya Pradesh Government is giving a monthly pension of Rs. 150 per month. The widowed women who are above 40 years get around Rs. 300 per month. There is no scheme for the widowed women in the Government. Few have complained that the amount will not be sufficient to get even a cup of tea and doubling it will be of no use.

The widowed women have said that either their pension amount has to be increased of a suitable job should be offered to them. Chandrasekhar Gaur has written to the PM that few who get Rs. 32 per day are below the poverty line and what situation prevails for those who get Rs.5 per day.

The Union Government has replied to the activist Chandrasekhar that they haven’t received any feedback regarding the increase of pension for women above 40 years. It was also said that women below 18 years will not be given any help from the government.

The activist has asked the Prime Minister to give the amount of Rs.32 per day plus some amount has to be contributed towards pension plan by the state government. To apply for the pension plan women has to spend some amount and they have received 49 cases of widowed women who have faced many struggles in procuring required documents for applying the pension plan.
