Dharamshala’s loss is Kolkata’s gain in the India-Pakistan clash. ICC World Twenty20 match between India and Pakistan will take place on March 19th and now the venue has been to Eden Gardens at Kolkata. Yet the official confirmation is not made. According to the BCCI officials, Kolkata has the more capacity than Mohali and Bengaluru.
Pakistan Cricket Board has organized the team security concerns for the match at Dharamshala. As far as security part is concerned Kolkata is the safest place and BCCI is also planning to move from Dharamshala. It is also easy for the broadcasting team to schedule from Kolkata.
The West Bengal Government lead by Mamta Banerjee have also shown interest to host the match and they are in talks with ICC and PCB. The Pakistani team will stay at Kolkata and they have planned for two warm up games this week.
As per the agenda the Pakistan team will arrive on March 9th and again they have to move to Dharamshala on March 17th, but if the venue is shifted they will stay in Kolkata till March 20th. They are facing New Zealand on March 22nd on the same venue. The Himachal Pradesh CM has ensured that they can't give security to the cricket match.
