Consolidating its hold over Telangana, the ruling TRS has swept the
civic body elections in Warangal, Khammam and Achampet in Mahabubnagar
district, by fully drubbing BJP and TDP. In Greater Warangal Municipal
Corporation, the TRS bagged 44 wards out of a total 58.
In
Khammam Municipal Corporation, TRS emerged victorious with 34 out of
the total 50 wards. Here even CPI, CPI (M) and YSR Congress secured two
each. The TRS made a clean sweep of the 20 wards of Achampet Nagar
Panchayat.
Two more TDP MLAs in Telangana have
crossed over to TRS namely Maganti Gopinath and Arikapudi Gandhi. Sandra
is expected to follow suit while Krishnaiah would maintain distance
from both the TDP and TRS. Now, there is only one man left in the
legion.
But the big news coming in from TRS
sources is that KCR reportedly told his close circle that he should
‘excuse Revanth Reddy also’ hinting that there may be efforts to even
bring him into TRS fold. If this happens, TDP will become extinct in
Telangana!
