The Chief Election Commissioner Syed Nasim Ahamad Zaidi said the Election Commission of India is struggling to taking out candidates and selected representatives who have charges of criminal actions and is doing the cleaning work of the electoral systems.


Presently accused or macho men can contest in the election even they are in prison. A writ petition was mane in the Patna High Court that those in prison or who is under custody can also contest in the elections. The EC has given a proposal to the law ministry that it is compulsory for the candidates to get a minimum of 50 + 1 vote to be announced will be elected.


Zaidi said under the present legal framework are organized at lower rates with regard to registration, de-registration and financing. On the basis of black money coming to the electoral, there is high rate of political parties which was 1000 during 2009 and has increased to 1900 presently.


Zaidi also stated based on the ongoing work to change the electoral system, the EC has planned to introduce a plan of direct information of the candidates to the public who cast their vote through s designed voter information plan.
