An entire village consisting of more than 160 families has been trapped by fevers and diarrhoea. Doctors who treated the patients confessed that more than 100 people were bed ridden. The patients were reported to have severe stomach and headaches.
Doctors from Atmakur Government Hospital who treated the residents of Guntipally village said that most of the health cases were a result of poor public hygiene in the village. Villagers too reported that their entire village is just a pile of garbage.
They also complained that every drain in the village is choked with garbage. One of the residents said that the drinking water is also badly contaminated. Even though Government sends medical team and provide treatment and free medicines, most of the villagers expressed dissatisfaction.
One of the villager said, "Doctors just give three red and blue tablets even though if they hear various complaints. ORS Pack is also provided. But they never make it clear that what is the actual disease we are suffering from."
