Roja is one of the famous actress in 90's period. But right now she has aligned with YSR Congress Party and won as MLA from Nagiri in 2014 general elections. Initially she joined Telugu Desam and was elected as woman wing president of Telugu Mahila Party. By 2009, She was involved in confrontations and political antics with rival opposition party leaders and that lead to her defeat for the second consecutive time.
Roja who was fed up, left TDP in August 2009 and she joined Congress party. But things never went well even there. She once again switched her loyalties and joined YSR Congress Party. By May 16, 2014, She won as a MLA from Nagari Assembly constituency. However Roja who tasted success as an actress faced more controversies as a Politician.
She was an active speaker among female MLA's and she was often known for her foul mouth and misbehaviour during assembly proceedings. This has been proved not just once or twice, but several times. And one such occasion has resulted on her suspension. The decision was taken collectively by Legislative house on December 18, 2015. The speaker also approved her suspension.
The way she is using foul mouth was lashed out by various politicians, political analysts and activists. And despite knowing these, YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy batted for her as she belonged to his party. He also supported her behaviour. Most of them called this as 'Immatured behaviour' from Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Now once again she got relieved from the one year suspension as she took the issue to Apex court. The Speaker's decision on suspending her based on section 340 sub plus 2 is now revoked.
