On March 20th the ruling TRS and the opposition party Congress were engaged in oral fight in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on drought relief measures in the state. The Congress immediately has walked out of the assembly regarding the debate.


At the question and answer session the Congress Members Chinna Reddy and T. Jeevan Reddy said many mandals were not declared drought hit and has asked for relief measures from the government. The Agriculture Minister Poocharam Srinivasa Reddy said nearly 231 mandals were declared as drought hit and has explained about the reason for drought.


Meanwhile the state government has asked the center to help in the issue. The government has asked for issues related to supply drinking water and fodder to livestock. The Congress was not satisfied with the issue and raised slogans against the government. As talks were more between the two parties, the speaker adjourned the House for 10 minutes.


After the House was re-assembled the speaker said told the Opposition members to seek the debate separately. The talks continued badly and the Jana Reddy has walked out with his party, for the drought related issue is not discussed. The MIM Member Akbaruddin Owaisi made an argument about the procedures and the debate on demands was taken up with TRS Member G. Balaraju.
