From March 21 the Air India is planning to expand the Boeing wide body aircraft by adding new destinations in the overseas within two years time. The airline sources have said they will work out the new plan during the next fiscal year. Presently the government has the possession of 40 wide body as against 68 Air bus Aisle A-320 family aircraft.


Sources have said presently they have planned to make expansions by catapulting long range Boeing aircraft. A final call on the issue will be made during the start of the next financial years. The new routes as planned will include Washington DC and Houston among other places in the US.


The new destinations will also include Sweden and Other places across Africa. It is anticipated that Air India will take deliveries of nine wide body planes during 2018. The deliveries also include six Dream liners and three B777 -300ERs. Meanwhile it will induct another around 30 A – 320s and also includes A-320 neos during the same time.


It is also planned to add more new destinations which will operate in the International network and so it requires a huge number of aircraft to meet the customer’s demand as early as possible.
