The Election Commission has planned to fix video cameras for taking live surveillance of sensitive and vulnerable polling booth as the West Bengal has their assembly election which starts next month beginning. The EC has planned to fix in the polling booth and the people will be and vulnerable booths will be checked by the poll observers and central armed forces.


The EC Official has said the camera will be taken and it will show live scenes which will be watched in the district control room and immediate steps will be taken against those who does any wrong practices. The officials have said the camera will look after those who are entering the polling booth and those who are standing near the main gate.


The mistake makers will be watched carefully through the cameras. The polling booths which are regarded as vulnerable will be given additional safety and security measures. The senior officials who include the district magistrate and sub divisional officer were asked to visit the booths at regular intervals.


The public can give complaints if any through district level help lines which have started from this week onwards. The officials who are at the district control room have a list of officials to be contacted in such sensitive areas and will make calls on a regular basis to get feedbacks. The first part of the six phased poll will start on April 4th.
