On account of World Water Day, the AP Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly took an oath to conserve water and make the state drought free by this year end. The pledge was said by the members before the Chairman A. Chakrapani.


The Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao made the pledge and later the CM Chandrababu Naidu read a 25 page statement and the statement has said about conserving water and various steps taken by the government in this regard. As per the pledge every member said that they will not waste water and preserve water and make the state drought free.


Chandrababu said that he has an idea to make smart water grid to make the state drought free within a period of five years. The aim of the government is to make the state to eradicate poverty and reducing economic inequalities, which will be implemented through better water management.


The CM has said the inter link of rivers project will be made and it is decided to make utilization of 150 to 200 tmc feet of water and building a bridge at 15 acres land and creating a new ayacut of 14 acres in more water scarcity areas like Rayalaseema, SPS Nellore and Prakasam districts. The state government has urged the center to make the inter link projects.
