The DMK Party seems to be way ahead in generating incomes through various sources which includes donations from individuals with its district secretaries who feels tough to contribute for the party’s celebrations. The DMK has netted an income of 158.52 crores income earned as donations during the period starting from 2010-2011.
Meanwhile the AIADMK was also able to generate 119.24 crores during the same financial year. Among the top three donors of DMK during the period of five years is the former ministers E.V. Velu, T.M. Anbarasan who were the secretaries of the party’s Thiruvannamalai and Kancheepuram districts.
Another top contributor was Madhavaram S Sudarsanam, who is in charge of party’s Thiruvallur district. Sudarsanam who was the former government pleader and presently is the secretary of the DMK of the North Chennai district has made a contribution of 7.12 crores on behalf of Thiruvallur district.
Anbarasan who has earlier contributed 6.04 crores on behalf of Kancheepuram district has also made a contribution of 4 crores for the upcoming assembly elections. He has come from the family of weaver and was the Labour Minister during the last DMK rule. The DMK leader Karunanidhi has also presented the three donors with golden ring during the Tiruchy Conference.
