Suicide of Rohit Vemula resulted in huge controversy across the country. Many national politicians visited University of Hyderabad demanding justice to Rohit Vemula but nothing materialised.
Though Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal promised government job for Rohit's family members, their pleas for justice fell on the deaf ears of Telangana CM KCR and PM Modi who boast that they are the champions of poor,dalits,STs and SCs and other backward classes.
Police investigation found that Rohit was not a dalit and this became another bone of contention. Even though students are protesting vehemently with Rohit's mother joining the protests demanding justice, there is no sight of it.
Rohit Vemula's mother Radhika Vemula questioned angrily “Are we not being served justice because we are Dalits,” She thundered “Do you want to give us justice or not,” Even Rohit's brother Raja Vemula questioned if Vice Chancellor Appa Rao was not wrong why did he try to meet him like a thief.
