Last year near the water bodies two lake police stations has been inaugurated as the crime rate is reduced considerably at Osmansagar and Himayatsagar reservoir. The Cyberabad police have registered have maintained crime records and the two major drinking water resources to the city are presently free from encroachments.
The two reservoirs are under the control of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate jurisdiction. Nearly 17 cases were registered during 2010 and during 2015 only one case was filed as jumping into the water and committing suicides and so on.
During 2013, seven robbery cases were registered and nearly 11 Lakhs property worth reported and out of it around 10 Lakhs worth property was recovered by the police. In a downward trend nearly four cases were registered during 2014 and no case was filed during 2015 and 2016.
The Osmansagar police station is situated on the lake barrage area and the Himayatsagar police station is located very near the lake and the two police stations were given vehicles for patrolling. The policemen are doing the duty round the clock on the shore area and the area which is surrounded by the lakes.
