There are reports coming in from certain sources that the former
Union Minister A Sai Pratap might be sent to Delhi for replacing the
current Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Sujana
Chowdary in Rajya Sabha soon.
Sai Pratap seems
to have received such an assurance from Chief Minister N Chandrababu
Naidu regarding Rajya Sabha ticket from Andhra Pradesh quota for the
ensuing elections due in June. Babu might not be fielding Sujana
Chowdary for a second Rajya Sabha term due to strong money laundering
cases against him.
Moreover, Naidu is unhappy
with the way in which Sujana has been acting independently in New Delhi,
mingling with the BJP leaders and ignoring most of the TDP activities
in Delhi. If he sends Sai Pratap to Rajya Sabha, Naidu will be appeasing
the Kapu community.
After the serious
agitation of Mudragada Padmanabham, Babu is doing everything he can to
retain Kapus on his side and now the inclusion of Sai Pratap in TDP is a
step in this direction! If this strategy works TDP can breathe easy and
settle the Kapu agitation issue forever.
