Because of the soaring heat there has problems arisen because of water scarcity in many private hostels which have recently mushroomed. As the bore wells have dried up the hostel owners were depending on the water tankers for the past few weeks and there is delay in bringing water on time to the hostel.
These hostels were offering lodging and boarding for the working men and women and students who were pursuing for UG and PG and engineering graduates are staying at these private hostels. The monthly fees range from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 6000 depending upon the facilities provided.
Mostly apartments and individual houses were hired for the setting up of private hostels and each one has strength of 60 to 100 members and the hostel owners are worried as how they are going to manage the water problem.
As because of the problem the students are instructed to use less amount of water and the water tankers are charging nearly Rs. 1000 to Rs. 1500. They can’t even depend on Water Board Tankers as they supply water after a period of ten days and has also advised the inmates to use less amount of water for next two months.
