The 80 year old Kanchi acharya , Jayendra Saraswati was present before the sessions judge on Monday, has submitted all the charges which was framed against him in connection with the ten year old Auditor Radhakrishnan assault case wasn’t true. The Additional Sessions Court at Chennai has summoned Jayendra Saraswathi and eight others have to appear as they were also connected in the issue.


The acharya has appeared before the court with his lawyers and disciples and was allowed to sit and answer for 90 questions which are carried to 63 pages. He took just an hour and has to say “no” or “I do not know” to almost all the questions which were asked to him.


Meanwhile other accused like Sundaresa Iyer and Raghu also said that the charges against them were not true. On September 2002, the former associate of Kanchi Mutt in Kancheepuram was attacked with deadly weapons and was seriously injured. Meanwhile the Foreshore Estate police have filed a case against Jeyendra Saraswathi and 11 others who were also connected in the case.


The charge sheet was filed in 2006 for offences which include criminal conspiracy and attempt to murder the former associate. During the tendency of trials, one of the accused Ravi Subramaniam has turned hostile and Appu and Kathiravan has passed away. The session’s judge has posted the case to April 1st.
