From now onwards the Lawmakers in Telangana will now get a monthly package of 2.50 Lakhs against the existing Rs.95, 000 with the state assembly which was made on Tuesday and a bill was passed and the salary and allowances will be increased.
The members of both the Houses of state legislature will get an increase of 163% in the package which includes both monthly pay and the allowances. The monthly salary has been increased from Rs. 12,000 to Rs.20,000, but the constituency has jumped from Rs.83,000 to Rs.2.50 Lakhs. The increase for the Chief Minister and others were ranged from 60 to 72%.
The CM’s gross salary has increased from Rs 2.44 Lakhs to Rs. 4.21 Lakhs. The pay has also increased from Rs.16,000 to Rs. 51,000 and the allowance has also increased from Rs.83,000 to Rs. 2.30 Lakhs. The minister’s chief whip and whips will get a monthly package from Rs. 2.42 Lakhs to Rs. 4 Lakhs. The assembly and council chairman will get from Rs. 2.42 Lakhs to Rs. 4.11 Lakhs.
The Legislative Affairs Minister Harish Rao has told that many lawmakers have served on may committees at the district level, have to attend meeting and they have to beat the travelling expenses within the constituency and the state capital and every legislator will have many visitors for a day and he has to make arrangements of 50 cup of tea every day.
