The MLA’s and MLC’s of Andhra Pradesh are not satisfied with the 40% increase in their basic salary and they have demanded more to be at par with the counterparts of Telangana. Many of them are silently saying it as a meager increase while at least one legislator could not hide his opinion on the raw deal.

The BJP Legislator Penmetsa Vishnu Kumar Raju who is from Visakhapatnam North has started to complain that the present salary which is paid to the legislators in AP makes it difficult for them to be honest. He has told the Media persons that when one has to be true in politics, this salary which is given is not enough for them.

He has termed the word meager as “totally unfair and unfortunate”, Vishnu Kumar Raju has shouted at the government for not being generous. As presently the expenses have grown, he felt that the salary can’t be used to meet out the growing expenses and he also criticized the YSRCP for making opposition of increase in perks.

While the legislators in Telangana are paid Rs. 2.75 Lakhs, the AP Legislators are paid just Rs.1.25 Lakhs. This huge difference has become the major reason for the complaint among the MLA’s and MLC’s of Andhra Pradesh. The TDP leadership has openly instructed the party legislators not to take the salary and perks in the open.
