Three Pakistani Militants and a local person travelling in a car carried weapons and also a suicide belt. A senior Police official said, this could possibly be a suicide target at Delhi, Goa or Mumbai.
TV channels reported Punjab director general of police (Law and Order). Due to this a security alert has been issued. A report said, "Inputs received from special cell of Delhi. A swift Dzire was trapped at Banihal Tunnel. And weapons were seized."
An alert issued by Police reads, "You are directed to take all the necessary steps in this regard and specially focus on strict checking of vehicles, security of all vital installation including police buildings and defense establishments, religious places, crowded places such as market areas, malls, railway stations, railway tracks, and educational institutions."
It has to be noted that, Punjab has witnessed 2 major terrorist attacks. The recent one was Pathankot Indian Air Force base attack and during that attack seven security personnel were killed. Last year July 27th, Pakistani terrorists attacked Dinanagar town and that attack left seven people dead.
