Few persons like Former Health Minister S. Semmalai, Former MP O.S. Manian and some iconic personalities like party spokesperson C. R. Saraswathi and Madurai Mayor V.V. Rajan Chellappa have also given seats to contest in the forthcoming assembly elections on May 16th.
The AIADMK General Secretary and the Chief Minister of TN Jayalalitha have made some changes in the list of 227 candidates which was discharged few days ago. The original list was altered for the second successive time after many complaints have started to pour in against some of the party men were given seats in the first list to further accommodate some prominent leaders.
Jayalalitha has nominated S. Semmalai to constitute from Mettur constituency. The former MP O.S. Manian is appointed as Nagapattinam District Secretary and he will contest from Vedaranyam Constituency. The Fisheries Minister K.A. Jayapal has currently lost the poll of Nagapattinam district Secretary.
On Wednesday a meeting was organized at the party’s district secretaries which were held at the AIADMK headquarters in Royapettah. The office bearers are given tips for tapping the first time voters and synergizing all wings of the party to win in the upcoming assembly elections.
