Dwaraka-Sharda Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati has done it again. He has made a controversial statement regarding Women's entry in temples. He said Rapes will increase if women are allowed in Shani Shingnapur temple.
The 94 Year old Swami said Women must not enter the sanctum sanctorum of the Shani Shingnapur temple as it will bring ill luck to them. He also expressed displeasure regarding the Temple trust's decision to revoke 400 Year old ban on women's entry in the sanctum sanctorum.
He said, "Shani is a planet of Sins. Worshipping him will lead to a rise in crime against women." As soon as he made this statement, Feminists and Women Right activists started to criticize the swamiji for such an irresponsible and insensitive speech.
He also had worship for 'UNWORTHY' Shirdi Sai Baba along with his followers for drought situation in Maharashtra. It has to be noted that the dwaraka on several occasions has disapproved worshipping Sai Baba. Sai Baba was a Spiritual guru who is regarded as a saint by his devotees.
