Presently the junior doctors have been vowing to stall the admission process for 2,500 post graduate and diploma medical seats and there is storming scenes which are continuing for the third week of April and the reason behind this is the NTR University of Health Sciences’ (NTRUHS) unilateral decision is to bring web based counseling for the financial year 2016-2017.

Currently an immediate rollback of the decision which is in favor of offline counseling was taken by the Telangana Junior Doctor’s Association (TJUDA) and Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctor’s Association (APJUDA) members. The President of TJUDA Dr. G. Srinivas has told that they need offline counseling for PG admission to continue as in the old procedure they feel they could prevent malpractices from happening.

Srinivas also told that seats were filled on a case by case basis, which gives them enough time to raise any objection, but the same is not possible in web counseling system. But many city based medicos have recounted how the offline counseling system was helpful last year in preventing the malpractices and to make sure that the right candidate should get the seat.

Sighting instances based on record, out of 2,500 PG and diploma course medical seats which were eyed by 16,000 medicos in the two states this year, the dozen odd Telangana medical colleges are offering about 800 conveners quota seats. This includes 500 seats which are offered in the four government medical colleges.
