T. Harish Rao the Irrigation Minister has told that the cabinet sub-committee of union water resources ministry has agreed to include 11 state irrigation projects in the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY). The Irrigation Minister has attended a meeting of the Sub-committee on PMKSY which was held under the chairmanship of minister from Chhattisgarh.


After the meeting the minister had spoken to the media reporters, the minister has told that the Center in principle has agreed to take up the Komaram Bheem, Gollavagu, Ralla Vagu, Mathadi Vagu, Pedda Vagu, Jagannadh project, Palem Vagu, SRSP second phase, Rajiv Bheema lift irrigation Devadula project which will come under the priority scheme and Indiramma flood flow canal under the second priority scheme.


Harish Rao has also stated that the meeting which was discussed earlier about increasing the funds from 40% to 60% under the MGNREGA and the strengthening of the regional offices of central water commission to get clearances for various projects which is situated at local level will be made without any delay.


The state governance has taken up Mission Kakatiya with the aim to avoid the Lathur like situation in Telangana. When the mission is accomplished tanks can store water up to 245 TMCft of water and the state governance has requested the team from Niti Aayog to make a sanction of Rs.5000 crores for the Mission Kakatiya and the teammates have also responded positively to the request which was made.
