Currently the personality driven politics gels easily with a dynastic leadership transition and it is of no surprise that in Tamilnadu, the two energetic sons have been shouldering the burden of carrying forward the political agenda of the respective parties. One is under the shadow of his illustrious father who spearheads the DMK Party’s bid to return to power in Tamilnadu, is none other than Stalin.

The other is the Chief Ministerial Candidate of the PMK party, who is none other than Anbumani Ramadoss. What is common between M.K. Stalin and Anbumani Ramadoss is that both have the striving to cultivate an independent image for themselves and they have been pressing the flesh with great zeal for this assembly election.

The DMK leader two year ago has declared that Stalin, his son and the party treasurer will succeed him in the party. But a year ago the PMK Party’s Founder S. Ramadoss’s son Anbumani with its main base as Vanniyars were declared by Ramadoss as its Chief ministerial candidate.

Stalin has designed a new program called “Namakku Naame” (We for Ourselves) and has aimed at giving a much needed makeover as a gen-next politician. Stalin under the banner of this scheme has met people from all walks of life and the program was handled by professionals instead of local party leaders, to give a wider appeal to the people. Anbumani has also a rigid party structure to gain an independent face quickly. Modi for BJP, Ms. Jayalalitha for AIADMK, Kejriwal for Aam Aadmi Party and Anbumani’s strategy is to promote the young, educated and neutral face people. What a dynamic qualities these leader have in common.
