Sources have stated that women aged 70 years and her body was pulled from the rubble by the emergency services and it was believed up to nine people could be trapped after a four storey block has come down around 9.30 am on Thursday.
But it is known that if they were in the 21 apartment building when the incident has happened in the famous tourist town. At least three people are confirmed to have been hurt. A 57 year old woman had suffered serious trauma to her upper body and a 28 year old Italian man had a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile a Foreign Office Spokeswoman has told that they are in contact with the local authorities and are urgently seeking more information following a building collapse in Tenerife. The cops have questioned as why the structure which is located in the central area of the southern coastal town had come down.
The nearby locals have reported that before the collapse of the building they have smelled some gas. The firefighters are working to clear the rubble and are searching for anyone who may be still in the debris. The local council has set up a refuge center while many hotels have offered rooms to those who are affected.
