The DMDK Party has got the Lion’s share in the allotment of constituencies in the DMDK and People’s Welfare Front alliance with nine of the 17 seats in Salem and Namakkal districts, five seats in Salem district and four in Namakkal district.
The MDMK Party has played an important role in the formation of mega alliance which consists of half a dozen parties and has not allotted even a single seat in both the districts. In Namakkal district the CPI and CPI (M) have got fewer seats.
Meanwhile the DMDK has been allotted in Salem North, Mettur, Gangavalli, Omalur and Yercaud constituencies in Salem district and Tiruchengodu, Senthamangalam Paramathi Velur and Komarapalayam seats in Namakkal district. Currently the DMDK has five MLA’s three in Salem district and two in Namakkal district.
The DMDK has nominated the party treasurer A.R. Elangovan for Omalur constituency and the two incumbents Alagapuram Mohanraj in Salem West and R. Subha in Gangavalli seats. In Namakkal district the party has nominated the J.Vijay Kamal in Tiruchengodu, M.Sathiya in Senthamangalam, P.A. Madheshwar in Komarapalayam and K.Muthukumar in Paramathi Velur.
