At Othakadai the crowd was eagerly waiting for the DMK’s Treasurer Stalin to seek votes for the DMK party. Othakadai is the place from where M.K. Alagiri the eldest son of the DMK President M. Karunanidhi used to catapult his poll campaign. He began his Lok Sabha election campaign by 2009 from the Yoga Narasimhar Temple and has gone on to become a cabinet minister.

Located a few kilometers from the campaign spot is the Dhinakaran office that bores the brunt of the fury Mr. Alagiri’s supporters when the Tamil daily has published a survey on the younger DMK scion’s popularity on May 9th 2007.

Stalin has emerged from the top of his campaign van and has engaged the voters in a dialogue by throwing questions at them about the ruling party. The DMK leader accuses the AIADMK party leader Jayalalitha for not attending the office in the secretariat regularly.

In Madurai South, where there is lot of Saurashtrians whose primary occupation is weaving, Stalin refers to the plight of weavers and what the party will offer to alleviate their sufferings. His Friday’s campaign was a success too, has claimed a great success in the tour and S. Murugesan of Thirumogur has come to Othakadai to hear Stalin’s speech.
