Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi has served a legal notice to the leading daily 'Times of India' and she has demanded an 'Unqualified apology' for its report on her official accommodation.

A letter from lawyer Aman Panwar addressed to Editor-in-Chief Jaideep Bose, among others and the letter said, "My client calls your publication and my client demands an unqualified apology and also publish the contents of this letter.

This letter is being sent without prejudice to any rights and contentions of my client and nothing contained herein should be considered an admission of any fact or a waiver of any of the rights and remedies of my client." The letter also stated that the journalist has completely lost sight of the incontrovertible facts in her eagerness to publish a sensational but false and defamatory story in a hasty fashion.

The news came soon after Priyanka said that her house rent was reduced from Rs.53,421 a month to Rs.8,888. TOI stated that Priyanka has wrote to the government in May 2002 that Rs.53,421 was too high and it was beyond her capacity.
