The Chairman of State Minorities Commission Abid Rasool Khan has filed a petition against Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments on their inability to initiate a CBI probe into the irregularities in Wakf institutions and the AP State Minorities Commission is seeking interim orders from High Court.

The AP State Minorities Commission has directed both the governments to initiate CBI probe into the alienation of Wakf properties. The commission also seeks an interim order to not to lease any wakf properties and also not to change managing committees and give NOC.

Abid Rasool Khan justified his act and has told that he has received numerous complaints on the mismanagement and alienation of Wakf properties in both the state governments and the AP State Minorities Commission Act has ascertained 15 such cases of irregularities.

"The parliamentary committee in its observations and recommendations to the Centre and states has expressed displeasure over rampant encroachment of Wakf properties over the last 40 years in Andhra Pradesh, which was one the states which is having the largest Wakf properties," which was stated from the petition.
