Garment Factory protesters protested in Bengaluru and they blocked traffic and there was no vehicular movement in roads. Police fired warning shots after the protesters threw stones at the Hebbagodi Police Station and torched seized vehicles parked there.


Around 20 people were arrested after the incident which left several policemen injured. There has been panic in the whole roads and more cops were enforced on the situation. The protests started with respect to enforcement of some changes in EPF by Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya.


The announcement came amid protests by labour unions in several parts of the country. Police immediately resorted to lathicharge and dispersed the protesters. They also target teargas shells. 


There are approximately over 12 lakh garment factory workers in the city. Two Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation were set on fire. Traffic Jams happened at various places in the city. People also launched online campaign against the decision.
