The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of private educational institutions has called off its strike over vigilance inspection and has agreed to allow the polytechnic common entrance examination on allocated centers to be held on Thursday.


On Wednesday the JAC representatives have come to an agreement after they had a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister and the Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari at his residence.


N Gautam Rao the Chairman of the Telangana Engineering and Professional colleges' Management Association has said that they have withdrawn the strike after the government has released over Rs 3,100 crores towards fee reimbursement and has also given an assurance to look into the matter of harassment by police on the name of vigilance inspection.


The indefinite strike has taken place from Monday after the state government has ordered for vigilance inspection over irregularities in scholarships and mess bills by the college managements. After this the college managements has made a threat to the government to boycott all the exams including Polycet, Eamcet and TET.
