In what can be called as good news to Chandrababu Naidu, the
Polavaram authority CEO Amarjith Singh has reportedly given some clarity
regarding the funding of Polavaram Project. Earlier Center has revealed
that project would be executed with loans from NABARD.
There
was worry all over that although Centre gave national status to
Polavaram, it is pushing all loans which will be more of a burden for
the cash strapped Andhra Pradesh government. Now Amarjith Singh has
clarified that the project will be completed with NABARD loans.
The best part is that the central government will be repaying the loan in 20 years.
The CEO along with his team visited Polavaram Project over last two
days and expressed satisfaction about the manner in which the works are
progressing. This is a very positive sign for the water starved regions.
Polavaram
authority is expected to review the works once in every month and will
also ensure that all the necessary funds are released in a timely
manner. The team also visited the Pattiseema Project and heaped lavish
praises on Babu! With this initiative, the water problem should be
resolved to a good extent.
