Jawaharlal Nehru University students' union president Kanhaiah Kumar shot to fame with his controversial comments calling for destruction of India, pro Afzal slogans and on Indian Army. He was slapped with sedition charges and is only out on bail.
He attracts numerous detractors and supporters. According to the latest it is comingout that a person tried to strangulate Kanhaiah Kumar in Jet Airways. The person was identified as Manas Jyothi Deka and was detained in connection with the incident. Police said they are yet to file an FIR.
The incident happened when when Kanhaiah Kumar was flying from Delhi to Pune. A senior police officer said "A person has been detained for allegedly attacking Kanahiya onboard a Pune-bound flight. The matter is being probed further,"
After the incident Kanhaiah Kumar was offloaded and was forcefd to take road route to Pune. Kanhaiah later accused Jet Airways saying "someone who assaults and one who is assaulted".
He came with the following tweets.
"Yet again, this time inside the aircraft, a man tries to strangulate me."
"After the incident @jetairways staff completely refuses to take any action against the man who assaulted me"
"Basically @jetairways sees no difference between someone who assaults nd d person who is assaulted. They will deplane you, if you complain."
