Polling begins for 49 seats in Fourth Phase of West Bengal Assembly Elections. Pollings began amidst tight security arrangements. Police ensures that there are no mishaps during this polling. Polling is taking place in the two districts of North 24 Parganas and Howrah and both of them are considered to be Trinamool Congress party's fort. The party is so confident of retaining its winning momentum.


More than 1.08 Crore voters will vote across 12481 Polling stations, 27 Auxiliary booths to decide fate of 345 Candidates. Trinamool and the Bharatiya Janata Party are contesting in all the constituencies, the Left Front constituents and the Congress are in t he fray in 46 seats, leaving Howrah Central to Janata Dal-United, and Domjur to an independent Protima Dutta.


The following ministers fate will be decided from this 4th phase elections. They are Amit Mitra (Khardaha), Jyotipriya Mallick (Habra), Bratya Basu (Dum Dum), Purnendu Basu (Rajarhat-Gopalpur), Chandrima Bhattacharya (Dum Dum North), Arup Roy (Howrah Central) and Rajib Bandopadhyay (Domjur).


Fifth Phase of Polling will take place on April 30th and Sixth Phase will take place on May 5th.
