The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) which is in the news for all wrong reasons is now planning to get a new image make over. The Organization has invited suggestions for a catchy tagline that would help it to reach out to the Public.


The Pension fund body will also encourage people to sae the money acquired through EPF for retirement. An EPFO Official said, "The idea is to take the brand to the people, so that they realise why it is important save provident fund money. After all, it’s social security for old age."


This move came with respect to the violent protest by garment factory workers in Bengaluru againt EPFO’s decision to restrict provident fund withdrawals. This protest, forced the Government to revoke the notification and it took back the matter in U-Turn.

Labour ministry officials said this was done with a good intention, but still people were not convinced. The official said, "Our records show that a majority of over five crore EPFO subscribers withdraw their money while changing jobs. That should not be the case. It should be saved for retirement." Now EPFO looks for brand ambassador to take the message to the people.
