The green activists have gathered for the second day in a row at the KBR Park on Wednesday to protest the proposed axing of nearly 271 trees at the national park and they have vowed to put themselves between the trees and the cutting machines.

The activists are now intensifying protests and working out alternative solutions to save the city's depleting green cover and are raising a string of arguments against the state government's much-hyped Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) for which nearly 3,100 trees across the city will face the axe.

Uma Chilak an active member of the Hyderabad chapter of Robin Hood Army has told that they are demanding that the government put off the project until monsoon and they are presently working out plans to do the translocation of the trees despite the prevailing temperature and conditions.

Vanita Khatter an avid green activist and member of Isha Foundation has added that bringing together the hundreds of people who use the park on a regular basis will be a huge benefit for the cause and in addition they will keep escalating their awareness campaigns on social media and through word of mouth.
