The Hyderabad Police Officials have told that a man was arrested on Friday for stealing 440 grams of gold ornaments and Rs 30,000 cash from his employer's house after wearing a burqa to conceal his identity. The case was detected within 48 hours of the crime and the accused was nabbed on Friday.


The incident has taken place on Tuesday, in which the accused Omprakash Anurag has entered the house of his employer named Srikanth, who runs a business of supplying gift articles to corporate offices and has committed the crime.


The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) V B Kamalasan Reddy has said that the police has recovered all the stolen gold ornaments and Rs 18,000 in cash from him and as part of the plan, the accused initially stole the key of the main door lock of the complainant's house and remained absent from duty since April 7 under one or the other pretext to execute his plan.


On Tuesday, he went to the apartment and has committed the theft and he has also carried chili powder along with him to sprinkle if anyone tried to catch hold of him. However, the entire movement of his entry and exit from the apartment was captured in CCTV cameras and the accused has limped while walking due to the presence of steel rod in his right leg and the limp has proved a vital evidence to zero in on him.
