Historic cruise left US seaport from Miami to Cuba, first in 38 years for the communist Island nation. Passengers sailed in Carnival Corp’s 704-passenger Adonia which left the Miami port at 4.24 PM  for Havana,Cuba. 


Carnival’s Cuba cruises which are operating on Fathom brand will also visit Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba ports during its seven day outing. Many Cuba born passengers along with others were on board.


Cruise sailed through after Cuba relaxed its ban on Cuban born people arriving to the country by sea. This threatened to stop cruises coming to Cuba.US President Barak Obama tried his best to start the cruise in the bid to increase tourism to Cuba after both countries decided to restore diplomatic relations on 17 Dec 2014. 


Carnival website in a post informed that the Adonia will cruise every other week from Miami to Cuba. Bookings will start at $1,800 per person and feature an array of cultural and educational activities, including Spanish lessons
