Water scarcity is reaching alarming levels and many places across the country are facing acute water problem. Drought like situation is prevalent even in Telangana and capital city Hyderabad.Ground water level and borewells going defunct, Hyderabadis who till now ran after vastu decided to ignore it completely for life saving water resources.
According to vastu northeast is the ideal location in a plot/house to locate a borewell.However not many find water at the same place and some find water in other directions like south,west or south west. Vastu experts predict negative effects if a borewell is dug anywhere expect northeast, but citizens are now ignoring this aspect.A pumpset dealer revealed “I dug a 1,000-feet borewell based on Vastu in the northeast in my plot in Bowenpally. There was not a drop of water. I lost nearly Rs 1 lakh. I consulted a groundwater expert who located water in the southwest, where I got water,” He went on to add “a Vastu expert suggested that I build a sump in the northeast as a remedy.”
Ashok,a resident said “I took a chance and dug a borewell in the northeast as per Vastu and got water. But I had to dig up to 1,200 feet. An expert said I would get more water in south, but I ignored it.” Raghupathi Reddy, a senior official with the state groundwater department revealed “In 70 per cent of the cases, water is found in places other than the northeast of a house. Ultimately, you need water,”He went on to add “I always tell people to dig a borewell where there is abundant and lasting water source. There is severe water stress in the city. People accept it.”
Vaasthu expert Phani Rajkumar said “There is bound to be negative effect on house owners if it is in the southwest or other places. But there is a remedy. These borewells should be outside the compound wall.”Pradeep of Pardeep Architects said “There are remedies in Vastu, hence not many insist on the northeast, which is considered ideal,”
