Couple of weeks back Union Government imposed President's rule In Uttarakhand after rebels broke from the ruling Congress party. Union Government imposed President's rule claiming that it wanted to prevent horse trading as Congress government lost majority. 


However Uttarakhand High Court hearing to the petition of Congress party, stalled the President rule and reinstalled Congress government. Union Government went to Supreme Court which quashed the High Court order. 


Now Union Government during the Supreme Court hearing of the case, informed that Union Government is serious about floor test in Uttarakhand. Attorney General Mukul Rohatagi said “I have not received any message from the government till this morning. They are seriously considering the Honourable Court’s suggestion and will get back at the earliest by Friday,” 


Kapil Sibal and AM.Singhvi, senior advocates representing former CM Harish Rawat asked Supreme Court bench ofvJustices Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh to pass order directing floor test. Bench said if the floor test ordered by the court will be the opportunity for Harish Rawat to prove his majority.
