The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his ministers to work out a way to ensure rules of legislation which was framed simultaneously so that the law can take immediate effect once the Act is passed by Parliament and gets presidential assent.

On Tuesday the PM's advice has come at a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers after the Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha has given a nearly hour long presentation on the status of various Cabinet decisions in finance and infrastructure sectors and Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy.

The PM has also asked all ministers to aggressively use social media to let people know of the government's success stories and has asked them to even seek professional help to get a hang of social media platforms and to bring social media profiles to acceptable levels.

The Cabinet Secretary has briefed ministers on re-allocation of cancelled coal blocks by saying that states will receive Rs 3.44 Lakhs crores over lifetime of the blocks and Rs 1,667 crores had already been transferred to states. He also provided a status update on FDI liberalization and the 'Stand up India' project.
