Violence broke out in  Jadavpur University (JU) as Bollywood Film maker Vivek Agnihotri screened his Political drama genre 'Buddha in a Traffic Jam' inside the campus despite all the protests by students.


Supporters of RSS' student wing, ABVP, roughed up girl students after JU Alumni association and they decided to cancel the screening of the movie. Alumni association's Sipra Patra said in a letter to the organisers, "I regret to inform you that due to model code of conduct prevailing due to state election we are unable to allow you to screen the movie. Please bear with us."


Payal Sarkar who is from Arts department said, "ABVP members never got permission for screening. They started to raise slogans against us. They also organized the screening as if it was some Political rally.

They kept on raising Pro-Modi and Pro-BJP slogans." An ABVP supporter said, "Initially, we were given permission to screen the film in the auditorium. However, today morning we got to know that the permission has been withdrawn because of protests of another student body."
