The Meteorological office have stated that the pre-monsoon showers, which has hit Hyderabad on May 1, will continue till the end of the month and the heat wave conditions may return only for a few days before the south west monsoon sets in the region.


Y K Reddy the director in charge of IMD Hyderabad has stated that the pre-monsoon had showered Hyderabad and large swathes of Telangana are experiencing which will be persistent till the end of this month and right up to the onset of the monsoon which is expected to happen in the first week of June and the intensity of the rains will definitely vary and likely to weaken later next week.


G P Sharma the chief meteorologist of Skymet has told TOI over telephone from Delhi that on Tuesday Hyderabad was recorded a minimum temperature of 20.5°C, five degrees below normal and this weather condition would continue for the next few days and then subside, only to rise again briefly before the monsoon begins.


The rains have brought along a lot of moisture into the air, and once the temperatures rises, there would be a lot of humidity which in turn would make way for uncomfortable heat and since May 1, the city has recorded 112.7 mm of rain against the seasonal average rainfall of 31.7 mm.
